Founded in 1952 by Robert Kabb and Jack Fogelson, Cumberland Steel has built a reputation on reliability, personal service, and understanding our customers’ needs—values that still guide us today. Over the years, we’ve grown from a bulk materials broker to a service-oriented business supplying a wide range of materials to clients who need quick, dependable solutions without large minimum orders. 

In 1983, Eli Goldner joined the company, bringing his expertise in customer service and sales, and later became a partner in the company with Eldon Kabb (who had taken over for his father), who managed operations and administration. Eli officially took over in 2015, continuing Cumberland’s reputation for getting the job done right. 

Cumberland specializes in sourcing and supplying steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, grating, expanded metal, titanium, aerospace-grade materials, plastics, and other specialty items. Known for finding hard-to-get materials and delivering them quickly, our customers include global manufacturers like Ford Motor Company and local businesses that have trusted us for years. Operating under ISO 9001:2015 standards, we combine decades of experience with modern tools and processes to ensure continuous improvement. 

Today, Eli’s son Zac leads the company, building on years of hands-on experience in every part of the business to uphold the family tradition of hard work and personal service. While the industry has evolved since the 1950s, Cumberland remains a family-run business focused on putting people first and delivering what customers need, when they need it.
